Our business
Our business is treaty reinsurance for property and casualty lines. Our business partners are brokers and insurers, who reinsure even smaller risks with our company since numerous individual contracts taken together can pose a financial risk for primary insurers.
We maintain business relations in all the countries covered by our division. With a staff of around 10 we are organized along geographical lines into sections. Our colleagues, who are of various nationalities, put their language skills as native speakers and their cultural knowledge to good use in reinsurance business.
Our goal is to continue to improve our results, which does not mean premium growth at any price.
A typical day at the office
Communicative challenges and underwriting issues will be the principal elements of your everyday working life.
As an underwriter you will familiarize yourself with international issues and special features of your market, e.g. the perils in Australian reinsurance business, and you will be aware of the legal aspects of your line of business.
You will conduct negotiations with full responsibility and serve all your clients' needs within the context of the business relationship. You will submit proposals, conclude treaties and update client data. You will also travel to distant parts of the globe when a major transaction is at stake.
Am I the right candidate ?
This is the profile we are looking for:
- University graduate in economics, law, mathematics
- Business and communication skills
- If possible, knowledge of insurance law
- Sound knowledge of English for negotiating purposes as well as language skills relevant to the countries in question; native speakers are welcome to apply
- Experience of living/working abroad in an English-speaking environment would be beneficial
- Microsoft-Office skills
- You enjoy working in an international environment and travelling
