Job Profile: Finance & Accounting
"I have always had an interest in mathematical problems and English. So I decided to train as an insurance professional with an insurance company. Before that, though, I was able to fulfil one of my dreams: after taking my school-leaving examination I went to New Zealand for a year to get in-depth experience of another country, another culture, and polish up my English.
I had already been working for a number of years when I noticed a job advertisement from Hannover Re and applied for a position in one of the marketing divisions.
You absolutely need to have a liking for numbers and enjoy teamwork at our company. Needless to say, I have benefited from my practical work experience and good PC and Microsoft-Office skills. My professional training, on the other hand, was of less importance. This is because Hannover Re actively promotes the professional development of all employees by means of seminars and training sessions on reinsurance topics, advanced specialist and IT courses, data market training, language courses etc.
