Quotations
The premium calculation of reinsurance treaties is called „quotation“.
This is done by mathematical/stochastic tools which are developed and programmed (Excel/VBA) in our department. The data supplied by our clients (primarily insurance companies) is used as input for these tools. Since reinsurance is mainly concerned with large losses, the assessment of the frequency of such losses is of special importance.
The daily business
The quotation department consists of 10 people, all of which having a university degree in mathematics or statistics.
Our main tasks are as follows::
- Development of stochastic tools for quotations
- Premium calculation with these tools
- Training of employees in the market departments in the application of these tools
- Support of market departments in actuarial matters
