Facultative Division
Traditional obligatory reinsurance is normally concentrated on the reinsurance of a portfolio of risks assumed by the insurer. In the Facultative Division, by contrast, individual risks often of a unique nature are reinsured: they range from major concert events to offshore oil platforms.
Our area requires a feeling for other cultures and flexibility in day-to-day business not to mention very good foreign language skills in order to really gain our clients' trust.
Our international business
We provide facultative reinsurance for individual risks. We write business in all regions of the world, accepting both property and casualty risks.
With a team of roughly 60 colleagues at Home Office Hannover we are organised by regions and lines of business. Further areas of concentration include, for example, energy, onshore & offshore risks as well as e-commerce.
Facultative reinsurance is written within a decentralised structure at Hannover Re. Worldwide, roughly another 50 staff are active in around 13 departments and the local markets.
A typical day at the office
In our division you will work in teams, each of which will ideally comprise an economist, engineer, legal expert and an insurance professional. Depending on your skills, you will be responsible for underwriting, marketing, analyses and back office organisation.
