Intern

We are looking to recruit an Intern for our Advanced Solutions Department. This is a full-time role which is to last for at least three months and is available immediately. Candidates may complete their internship either at Home Office in Hannover or at the offices of our Dublin subsidiary.

Duties:

During their internship, candidates will gain a fundamental insight into the field of Underwriting. The focus will be on assisting the underwriters as follows:

  • Assist with the structuring of alternative reinsurance solutions (e.g. compile detailed exemplary calculations for clients).
  • Offer assistance in respect of risk assessment activities as well as the calculation of prices and margins for structured reinsurance solutions.
  • Contribute to the modelling of contracts and the process of Monte Carlo simulations which is to serve as a basis for underwriting decisions.
  • Assist in negotiations and the conclusion of transactions.
  • Conduct a revision of the simulation models that are currently used.
  • Assist with various actuarial issues.

Specifications:

  • Candidates are currently studying (Business) Mathematics, Economics or Engineering Economics.
  • Applicants must have completed their intermediate diploma.
  • Good English and German language skills.
  • Versed in using Microsoft Office applications, and Excel in particular.
  • An independent way of working but nonetheless a team player.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Communication skills.
