Performance Excellence
In addition to the general Code of Conduct, the guidelines of the "Performance Excellence" initiative give staff clear orientation for their daily work. Performance Excellence is a forward-looking, holistic management system for the entire Hannover Re Group, the goal of which is to bring about a sustainable increase in the value of the enterprise. Deriving from the "Excellence Model" of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), it is based on the evaluation and refinement of the methods, processes and practices used, complemented by external assessments. This comprehensive approach encompasses concepts such as Balanced Scorecard, Customer Relationship Management, Management Feedback and Management by Objectives (MbO).
Hannover Re is constantly striving to improve its management tools: Leadership, Policy and Strategy, People as well as the management of Resources and Processes. In this way, the goal is to attain optimal client/employee satisfaction and business results.
Performance Excellence has many functions:
- Structure for the management system
- Guidance for the execution of strategy
- Self-assessment method (PE check) which shows where the various corporate units are on their path towards Excellence, identifies potential scope for improvement and gives inspiration for solutions
- Framework for the categorisation of measures and projects, for the avoidance of duplication of tasks and for the identification of important issues that have not yet been dealt with
- Basis for a common language and mindset shared by all the company's units.
