The company attaches considerable importance to the health of its workforce. Not only in Germany, therefore, Hannover Re gives staff a broad variety of options to promote good health and stay fit. Some locations have in-house medical officers who offer, among other things, seasonal flu shots in the autumn. Health checks for managers have long been part of the programme at Hannover Re, as are back training courses and stress management seminars for all employees. Numerous cooperative arrangements with fitness studios in Germany and abroad enable staff to stay fit at reasonable prices.
The success of these health promotion measures is borne out by one particular statistic: with a rate of sickness-related absence at less than three percent, Hannover Re is well below the industry average.
