Hannover, 6 August 1997:

Dirk Lohmann (38) has requested the Supervisory Boards of Hannover Rückversicherungs-AG and E+S Rückversicherungs-AG to grant him a premature discharge from his contractual obligations in order to be able to take up other tasks within the industry. Lohmann joined the company in 1980, and had been a member of the Executive Board since 1994; his areas of responsibility included North America, financial reinsurance and marine/aviation business.

With effect from 1 September 1997, the Supervisory Boards of Hannover Rückversicherungs-AG and E+S Rückversicherungs-AG have appointed Jürgen Gräber (40) as a Deputy Member of the Executive Board. Gräber has been with the two companies since 1981, and was most recently Central Department Manager for the markets of Asia, Australia/New Zealand and English-speaking Africa. In future, he will continue to be responsible for this central department on the Executive Board; additionally, he will assume responsibility for the marine/aviation departments and for financial reinsurance.

Wilhelm Zeller (53), Chairman of the Executive Board, will assume responsibility for the Central Department North America on a temporary basis.
