Operating under the Hannover Life Re brand name, the Hannover Re Group has stepped up its activities in the priority markets of Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, South Africa, the United States, Malaysia, Australia, China and Japan. These ten markets generate more than 85% of the premium volume.

Hannover Re ranks among the four most important life reinsurers in the world today. The company is the market leader or number two player in the German, French, UK, South African, Malaysian and Australian markets, while in the United States it is the largest specialty life reinsurer.

Our target clients are small or mid-sized insurers that concentrate on certain market or product niches and are led by knowledgeable management. As a multifaceted specialist reinsurer, Hannover Re offers its clients long-term partnerships characterised by sustained profitability. We devise needs-oriented solutions to our clients' problems in the areas of conventional reinsurance, new business financing, financial optimisation and strategic market positioning.

Distribution channels

Worldwide business is supported by a global network of seven licensed reinsurers and four branches of Hannover Re. Altogether, our clients are served by roughly 350 staff on five continents. Marketing mostly takes place directly without the use of intermediaries.
