Hannover Re offers you - as a (business) mathematics graduate - varied challenges. You can support us in non-life and life and health reinsurance, calculating premiums and creating sophisticated reinsurance concepts or developing actuarial models. It all depends on your profile and interests.

You have the following qualifications:

  • Very good degree, ideally specialising in stochastic
  • Ideally practical experience in primary and/or reinsurance
  • Interest in economics
  • Enjoy customer contact and contact with colleagues of various nationalities
  • Good command of English
  • Creativity, decisiveness and team spirit

Group Risk Management

Group Risk Management is the mathematical department of our company. Its main tasks include protection of the company’s equity by means of group-wide coordination of quantitative and qualitative risk management.

  • Ascertainment of suitable claims reserves with the aid of statistical procedures, in order to be able to pay out future claims from the existing reserves
  • Assessment of the frequency and intensity of natural hazards, also for special scenarios, e.g. hurricanes in the Caribbean, using simulation models. Checking the appropriateness of premiums paid for taking on risks
  • Checking the amount of liability worldwide
  • Further development and operation of our Dynamic Financial Analysis model, including statements on the required risk capital, including Solvency II Support
  • Monitoring of qualitative risks (including operative risks) and risk reporting

 

Group Risk Management

The department of Group Risk Management is all about statistics and stochastic, because here we measure and evaluate the principal risks of the Hannover Re Group.

Life & Health Reinsurance

Worldwide life and health reinsurance is represented by our department Life & Health. The varied tasks include

  • Initiation, pricing and completion of reinsurance contracts
  • Customer support in developing primary insurance products
  • Customer care, including domestic and foreign travel
  • Creation of actuarial forecasts and cash flow analyses
  • Analysis of mortality and mortality forecasts

Life & Health

In the business group Life & Health reinsurance, Hannover Re is - thanks to their internationally active colleagues - one of the world's leading reinsurers: individual, needs-based and partly customized solutions are offered to clients in all areas of life, health and accident insurance.

Quotations

Premiums for reinsurance contracts are calculated in this department. The main activities are:

  • Development of stochastic quotation models
  • Worldwide property and liability business quotations
  • Seminars for underwriters and support in all matters concerning quotations
  • Evaluation of actuarial studies

Quotations

For the business group Property & Casualty reinsurance, we undertake a number of tasks such as the premium calculation of reinsurance contracts, thus ensuring the profitability of Hannover Re and minimizing the called mispricing risk.

Advanced Solutions

This department deals with alternative or also structured reinsurance solutions. The main tasks include:

  • Development, evaluation and completion of structured reinsurance concepts, including the relevant marketing activities
  • Cooperation with other market areas concerning the development of finance oriented reinsurance solutions
  • Design and implementation of internal and external training events
