Code of Conduct
Our corporate guidelines and other rules and regulations as well as our business processes and daily actions are consistent with external requirements. We thus avoid business, behaviour, liability and reputational risks that could harm our commercial activities. By defining and implementing clear standards we also deliver efficient and effective support for attainment of our corporate objectives. Company-wide guidelines such as the Code of Conduct support employees in successfully coping with the often complex ethical and legal challenges of their day-to-day activities. Every employee commits him/herself to honest and fair as well as legal behaviour towards colleagues and clients. These guidelines are regularly updated in order to adapt them to the changing socio-political requirements.
Hannover Re fosters a speak up culture. We thus implemented a whistleblower system that allows employees, clients and third parties to report circumstances indicating serious breaches of law – even anonymously if desired. Hannover Re can then take appropriate action and prevent further damage. Contravention of laws and acts can also be made known to the Compliance Officer of Hannover Re and its segments.

This link will take you to our whistleblower system which can be used to report any fraudulent, illegal or similar misconduct like fraud, incorrect bookkeeping and accounting, corruption, disloyalty (e.g. expense-account abuse). Such incidents can be reported in a fully anonymous way, making it impossible to trace the report back to the person who submitted it.
