Webinar on Long Covid

Thursday, 8 December 2022, 11 am - 12 am CET

Long-term complications from an acute Covid infection have been a matter of great concern from the very beginning of the pandemic for societies at large including the insurance industry. While some insurance markets have been hit quite hard by claims, other markets have seen very few claims. During this session, we will listen to two medical researchers having worked with Long Covid patients since 2020 and a Life & Health insurance researcher that has closely monitored the pandemic. Here are some examples of topics that we will discuss:

  • Clinical characteristics and morbidity of Long Covid
    • Treatment options
    • Return-to-work rates
  • The risk of getting Long Covid
    • Continuous symptoms vs symptom-free interval
    • Differences between corona variants
    • The impact of vaccinations
  • The effects on the insurance industry and its reactions during 2020 – 2022
    • What do we see for the future?
