In cooperation with the FHDW, we offer you the dual and part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration with a focus on insurance. In addition to the strong integration of theory and practice, the small class sizes and dedicated support from the lecturers provide you with an excellent learning environment within the degree programme. We are also proud to note that we have successfully provided employment opportunities to all dual students upon completion of their studies.
We finance your entire degree programme at the FHDW and also cover the costs for the examination at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK). You will also receive a training allowance in line with the standard pay scale throughout your studies and EUR 50 per semester for additional subject-related teaching materials. If you would like to develop your skills even further, you can do so in our in-house seminars. At the end of your studies, you will not only have an IHK qualification, but also a recognised Bachelor's degree. With the knowledge you have acquired, you will be able to secure excellent career opportunities.
The academic year begins each October. Before starting your studies, we ask that you undertake a one-month internship within our organisation. During this time, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with your colleagues and fellow students and gain insights into the company and the basics of the reinsurance business. The study blocks at the university of applied sciences, each lasting three months, alternate with practical phases at our company, where you will familiarise yourself with up to six divisions. If the opportunity arises and you are interested, there are also study abroad options which can be explored. After two years, you will take your examination at the Hannover Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) to qualify as an insurance and financial investment specialist. At the end of the three-year degree programme, you will receive a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Administration with a specialisation in Insurance.
"My application for the dual study programme was straightforward online. During the application process, I was given an insight into the informal working atmosphere and received regular updates and prompt answers to all my questions. As a dual student at Hannover Re, you have to be open to different tasks, as the programme is varied and you learn something new every day. Communication skills, an interest in economic and mathematical topics and a desire to work in an international environment are important."
