The Supervisory Board of Hannover Rück SE has appointed Silke Sehm (50) as a full member of the Executive Board with immediate effect.
Hannover, 6 March 2019: The Supervisory Board of Hannover Rück SE has appointed Silke Sehm (50) as a full member of the Executive Board with immediate effect.
In this connection, there are changes in the responsibilities for property and casualty reinsurance at the Executive Board. Along with the areas of structured reinsurance and insurance-linked securities, Silke Sehm will henceforth take responsibility for French-speaking and Nordic markets in Europe as well as Central and Eastern Europe and catastrophe business.
"Silke Sehm joins us from within our own ranks and complements our Executive Board with her more than two decades of experience", said Ulrich Wallin, Chief Executive Officer of Hannover Re. "Her expertise in our industry and in the field of structured reinsurance solutions will help to advance Hannover Re's successful development."
Silke Sehm studied mathematics at Leibniz University in Hannover. In 1996 she embarked on her professional career with Hannover Re as an underwriter for property and casualty business, before moving to the area of Advanced Solutions in 1998. Since 2008 she has served as Managing Director overseeing all structured reinsurance business written by the Hannover Re Group with a premium volume of about EUR 2.6 billion. Silke Sehm succeeds Jürgen Gräber, who passed away unexpectedly on 9 November 2018.
