Reinsurance that withstands the storm
Our business focuses on catastrophe-exposed reinsurance risks, including natural disasters, workers' compensation, personal accident and terrorism. With an emphasis on reliability and global reach, we enable insurers to manage extreme volatility and protect their balance sheets.
Dedicated capacity through Hannover Re Bermuda
The vast majority of our natural catastrophe business is underwritten through Hannover Re Bermuda (HRB) - our dedicated centre for catastrophe XL. We provide both proportional and non-proportional reinsurance solutions, specialising in excess of loss structures.
Data-driven risk insights and global reach
We are one of the leading global reinsurers in the natural catastrophe segment. Our dedicated team of scientists, modellers and underwriters constantly refines our view of risk around the world. We take a data-driven approach - high-quality exposure data is critical in determining our capacity and pricing.
We provide significant capacity to our clients, backed by the full strength of Hannover Re’s balance sheet. In addition, we contribute to the design of new catastrophe schemes and actively share insights into global catastrophe markets. Our expertise extends to structural strategies and tailored support for specific perils and regions.
