Certified and reciprocal reinsurer in the US

As of 1 January 2023, Hannover Re has been approved as reciprocal reinsurer in 51 US states and thus does not need to provide US-collateral for treaties written on or after 1 January 2023 (on a prospective basis). For pre-reciprocal status contracts in the US, Hannover Re maintains its certified and trusteed reinsurer status with collateral provided via multi-beneficiary trust funds.
